COLUMBIA, Md., July 26, 2023 — TCOM, LP, the global authority in airborne persistent surveillance solutions for over 50 years, recently added three new directors to their leadership team. These strategic hires bring decades of additional experience and best practices to TCOM that will be adapted to meet the needs of the expanding aerostat market.
Han Phan has been promoted to Director of Engineering after his previous role as Manager of Design Engineering and Chief Engineer for TCOM’s largest and most advanced aerostat system to date. Before joining TCOM, Mr. Phan held the position of Senior Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding. During his nine-year tenure there, he was responsible for incorporating advanced composite materials and shock and vibration mitigation designs into nuclear fast attack submarines within the Advanced Technology Department. Mr. Phan received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnique Institute and State University.
Justin Dietrich recently joined the team as Director of Systems Engineering and Lead Engineer of the Persistent Surveillance Systems – Tethered (PSS-T) Program. He previously supported Northrup Grumman, where he served as Subsystem Design Integrated Productions Team (IPT) Lead as well as engineering roles for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). Mr. Dietrich received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson.
Kurt McIntyre also came on board as a Director of Solutions Architecture – Business Development. In this role, he is responsible for leading the development and implementation of business and technical strategies across TCOM’s portfolio of products and services. Prior to joining TCOM in 2023, he was a 15-year veteran of Alliant Techsystems (ATK), then Orbital ATK, and finally Northrop Grumman Weapons Systems. Mr. McIntyre began his career serving the NASA Center for Aerospace Information (CASI) as a liaison between CASI and the other NASA centers after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Research from the University of Maryland.
